Our Approach
At Blue Ridge Canine Academy we believe in the human - canine psychological interface, as the basis for our continuing success.
This process involves both owner and dog learning , through positive reinforcement, how to build mutual respect and trust, develop understanding and communication techniques, the role of a leader and how to maintain your position within your newly formed pack.
Our approach to dog behaviour therapy is one of understanding that our canine friends are ALL individuals and will take to training very differently and at a pace they can understand, manage and above all else enjoy, regardless of breed or mix.
The team strives to maintain this philosophy under the careful tuition and guidance delivered by our Director of Canine Training and Development.

Under the careful supervision of our fully qualified and advanced trained behaviour therapist, we will explain and clearly demonstrate the holistic approach to rehabilitating your dogs' current behaviour issue(s), from low level separation anxiety right through to high level aggression. You will then be encouraged to imitate everything taught so that you may confidently practice in an informed and safe manner when you are at home or out and about. Our award winning puppy, junior and adult dog socialisation and training classes take place weekly. We emphasise the importance of socialisation with lots of play time and mental stimulation as well as taking you through our foundation, intermediate and advanced obedience training curriculum's.
